About the program

Control Union is a certification body recognized by ISCC to be able to verify the sustainability of biofuels and their biomass. The certification experience offered by Control Union will help our clients meet the sustainability criteria and targets set by each member of the European Union.

Why choose this program?

It contributes to the implementation of social, environmental and economic aspects in the production of all types of biomass throughout the supply chain of destination biofuels for transport.

Under ISCC, the main sectors that are certified are: biofuels for transport (biodiesel, bioethanol, bioturbosine, HVO, biomethane (LNG)). Although in the last year, with the approval of the RED II Directive, electricity can also be certified; heating and cooling using sustainable biomass.

Specifically, and to comply with the Biomass Guide 3 for the EU ETS, the aviation sector must be certified in ISCC_EU to declare the amount of bioturbosine used as an emission factor equal to 0.
