About this Standard

The US authority (US Department of Agriculture) accredits Control Union Certifications for the National Organic Program (NOP). Our global network of offices, under the umbrella of our accredited Dutch head office, allows us to make certification efficient and cost-effective, whilst upholding the same stringent professional auditing and certification procedures.

The U.S. Organic Regulation is required for operations that produced or handle agricultural products (such as organic crops, wild crops, livestock, or processed food and feed) that wants to sell, label or represent their products as organic.

Through third-party verification, we motivate your (quality) claim independently towards your clients. Furthermore, traceability and contamination risks can be managed better by certifying your management system and/or your product.

The U.S. is the biggest organic market worldwide. In 2020 it jumps by a record 12.4% to 61.9 billion of US Dollars. A steady growth in food and non-food sector (personal care products can be certified as organic) is projected for the coming years.
