About this Standard

The Certification of Organic Agriculture in Colombia applies to agricultural products from plant and animal origin (including those from fishing and aquaculture), Sales and Imports. Its purpose is to promote sustainability, through soil conservation, maintenance of biodiversity, drastically reduces the use of external inputs in the production unit and promotes practices that guarantee quality and safety throughout the food production chain. ecological, non-use of GMOs, among others.

For a product to be considered organic in the Colombian market, it must be regulated under Resolution 0187/06 of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, by control bodies accredited by the ONAC.
