About this Standard

The Central American Technical Regulation (RTCA 67.06.74:16) contains the basic principles for organic agricultural products, requirements for production, processing, marketing, certification and labeling, which the operator needs to adopt and implement, under the supervision of control bodies, if they want to sell a product as organic in Guatemala.

The RTCA must be applied by all natural or legal persons engaged in the production, processing, labeling, storage, transportation and marketing of certified organic agricultural products; as well as to the public or private instances that carry out the tasks of registration, control and/or certification of this production.

The natural condition of Guatemala allows organic farming of a wide range of agricultural products, which can be offered to international markets, but it is necessary to comply with regulatory provisions.
